My thinking was: Mbps stands for Megabits per second. MBps stands Megabytes per second.
So it's megabits per second, which is how Internet speed is typically expressed.
In other words:
Megabits / 8 = MegaBytes
Because 00000000 bits = 1 byte (0 - 255)
We're showing Megabits.
