Q. How does purchasing a Retail license work?

After placing your order at your payment method will get authorized by our payment processor (E.g. Google Checkout). Once your payment method gets approved, will charge you the purchase price. At the same time you will be assigned an Activation ID that you can use to license your product. We will send you information confirming your order, the Activation ID and activation instructions by email. Save this, it's important.

Once you have your Activation ID, in the application, you will have the option of running a licensing wizard (see User Manual). In the licensing wizard you will be prompted to enter your Activation ID and your license will be activated.

If you purchased your license by clicking through from within the licensing wizard to "Purchase a retail license" then the Activation ID will be automatically entered for you. All you have to do is complete the wizard and you're all set.

Q. How quickly can I purchase a license and start using it with Google Checkout?

Licenses are activated instantly, right after your payment gets authorized. Google Checkout says that most payments get authorized within 20 seconds. Some credit cards can take longer, and you will be informed by Google Checkout in such a case.

If your card is declined, your order will be put on hold for 7 days until you can provide a valid payment method.

Q. Does it cost anything extra to use Google Checkout?

No. Google Checkout is absolutely free. See this Google Checkout help page for more information.

Q. Does the computer where the software is installed need to be connected to the Internet in order to activate the license?

No. The licensing wizard has an offline mode. You will still need another computer with Internet access in order to purchase the license and to complete license activation.

License activation without Internet access involves copying and pasting strings of text to a special web site at You will be instructed on what to do in the licensing wizard.

Q. How many computers can I install the application on?

A single computer for an unlimited period of time.

Q. What is the upgrade policy for a Retail license?

All future versions of the product are included in a Retail license.

Q. Is license activation tied to the hardware in any way, and what happens if I upgrade my computer?

Yes. License activation uses various components in your system for identification. If a piece of hardware changes you will have the option of automatically transferring your license to a new system using the licensing wizard.

Licensing does not keep track of hardware that changes often, such as addon cards. It keeps track of more permanent things such as your motherboard.

Q. What happens if I need to get a new computer entirely?

We will be happy to transfer your license from one computer to another if you contact us.
